It has been a while since I last posted a poem, but I still have been writing them. In fact this year in school (I am homeschooled) my mother has made poetry the ELA topic for September. The first thing she had me write was a Haiku, a type of Japanese poetry with only three lines that do not rhyme. Haikus also have a set rhythm to them 5 beats then 7 then 5 again, 17 in total.
Haiku
A flower bursting,
with the sweetest of perfumes
a tiny treasure
